Cancellation policy

These are the terms for a private tour booked directly with us. They cover the deposit, the balance, and what happens if your dates change or your trip is cancelled — by you or by us.

Deposit and balance

• A deposit of [25%] of the tour price secures your booking, your hotels and your guide.
• The balance is due [30 days] before arrival.
• Bookings made within [30 days] of departure are paid in full at the time of booking.

If you cancel

Two government fees sit outside our own terms and are handled directly by the Department of Immigration: the Sustainable Development Fee is refunded for any nights you do not use if you cancel or shorten your trip before arrival, and the USD 40 visa fee is not refundable once paid.

Changing your dates

Moving your trip to new dates is usually easier than cancelling — we treat a date change as a rebooking rather than a cancellation wherever your new dates and hotels allow it. [Confirm any fee for date changes here.]

If we cancel

On the rare occasion we have to cancel or materially change a confirmed trip — for example a government policy change, a natural event, or a safety concern — you'll get a full refund or the option to rebook, whichever you'd prefer.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, so an unexpected illness, injury or flight disruption on your side is covered even where our own cancellation terms would not refund it.
